Aggieland

It's a tradition that anytime we go down to my parent's house, we always go to College Station. It has changed so much since Terry and I graduated...and it's always a little depressing to see the shirts that say "Class of 14"....what!? I seriously feel like I'm getting old everytime we go, but I love it. Well, we decided to head down there on Saturday and decided that we would go by Kyle field just so Grayson could see how big it is. It just so happens that they were having an open practice that day, so we got to sit and watch them for a bit...Grayson had a great time, and it was fun to just be at the field again (not to mention, we could leave after about 30 minutes...before we got too hot).

Grayson had to tell the cows bye before we left

Catching a ride to the stadium

                                       I love this!

With my parents (they have alot of money invested in this place!)

I can't wait until these 2 little boys are big enough to take to a game! They are gonna love it as much as me and their daddy :)

Tractors, Ponds & Golf

As I mentioned in a couple of my previous posts, I was in Indianapolis last week...and I missed my boys terribly. I know they don't really, but they both seemed to have grown so much in the 5 days that I didn't see them! Grayson always has fun at my parent's, and I imagine there was alot of this going on:

riding the tractor (He got on this thing before we ever even made it to the front door. And he helped Pops mow the entire pasture)

                                                            throwing rocks in the pond

                                                                             golf

I just love these pictures of him with my dad...I think they are pretty sweet.

I know my parents love him to pieces, but they were probably a little relieved to say goodbye to the 2 yr old with unlimited amounts of energy :)

BIG Weekend at the Bybee House!!

Well, it finally happened...as of Saturday, Griffin Stryker is a crawler. It's a little odd to see; Grayson never crawled...he scooted on his butt everywhere. As evidenced below.....he isn't moving at lightning speed or anything, but I'm sure that will change shortly. I'm so excited...I was beginning to wonder if it was ever gonna happen. Just look at him...so stinkin' cute :)  Go Griffin, go!!!

Almost time..

As I mentioned in my previous post, I will be in Indianapolis this week (as a matter of fact, I just got to the hotel room). I thought it would be nice if my parents could keep Grayson for the time that I am gone. It really is killing 2 birds with 1 stone: my parents love to keep him, and I thought it would be a nice break for Terry to just have Griffin for the week. Oh, and Grayson loves to stay with Gram and Pops because he gets to go play golf, ride the tractor and throw rocks in the pond (yes, my parents live in the middle of no.where). Well, we drove down to drop him off and came back yesterday evening. While we were there, my mom went ahead and gave me the money to get whatever I wanted to get Griffin for his birthday (sniff, sniff....he's getting so big already), so we decided to stop at Babies R Us and look at the big boy carseats. To make a long story short, we ended up getting one (we saved $55...woot woot!!!).  Here is the big boy trying it out:

I think he loved it and can't wait til he can use it!!

Packing

I am going out of town beginning tomorrow...so, naturally, I started packing last week :) I'm headed to Indianapolis for a week, so I got out the big suitcase and was standing in the closet trying to decide what I was going to pack when I heard "I get in, mama?" Too bad I can't really pack this way.

Why I Call Myself a Ditz

So, today I left my phone on top of the car. And then I drove off. As of right now, my phone is in the Costco lost and found. It's funny how dependent I am on that thing. I feel lost when I don't have my phone....really makes me wonder what it would have been like to live back in the day when they didn't have all the technology we have today. It's always so hard for me to believe when I hear people say they didn't use to have carseats and they would just put their baby in the back in a box. WHAT!? It's a baby, not a chick! I just hope that as I get older I keep up with the technological advances. My parents are absolutely ridiculous and I hope I'm not like that. I'm really kind of surprised that they even have cell phones. They play the stupid card alot, which really drives me nuts... but I digress.....
On a totally different note, I'm dreading when school officially starts for the kids (next Monday) because my traffic on the way to work is going to be awful. It's always so nice when school's out for summer (does anyone else have the Beastie Boys song running through his head now?). Let me tell you what I AM looking forward to....no more thrush. It's such a pain boiling all the paci's and nipples everyday. And let's not even talk about what it's like to give Griffin medicine. That boy is a fighter!!! But look at this sweet face. Sticking the tongue out is his new thing and I think it's just the cutest thing!!

Have I mentioned...

what a sweet baby Griffin is? He is so mellow and so happy most of the time. I realize it every time I take him shopping. I put him in his little stroller and as we go from store to store, he just takes everything in as he chews on his buckle. When Grayson was little, I wouldn't be in a store more than 5 minutes before he starting crying and had to be held...needless to say, he didn't go shopping with me much. Today I was at the outlets for a good 2 hours strolling around with Griffin and not once did he let out a peep! His whole demeanor as a baby is just so different than Grayson's was. Not that Grayson was an awful baby, but he had reflux so he was more fussy. Bless his little heart. But look at him now. Such a sweet little boy.

Both my boys have equal amounts of cute factor...if I could bottle that stuff up and sell it, I'd be one rich lady! But Griffin has definitely proven to be more easy-going. Poor baby had to go to Pediatrics After Hours yesterday. We have never seen it ourselves, but we were pretty sure he had thrush since he looked like he was foaming at the mouth. So, I took him yesterday as soon as they opened and the doctor said he has a pretty bad case. Never would have guessed it by his demeanor...not fussy or anything. Just smiles at us all the time with those 2 little teeth.

And on a very random note, this is what I caught Terry doing a couple weeks ago. I could have sworn this would only be something I would see on redneck.com, but apparently  this sort of thing happens in my own living room. And yes, we own a ladder.

Wow, this needs a makeover

Though I DO need a makeover, I am talking about my little ol' blog. I will be contacting my computer savvy friend Melissa later tonight. I at least need to put some pics up or something. People may be more likely to look at it if I have some cute pics up as opposed to it being just a babble of my thoughts. I really just need to figure out how to put things up on the sidebars and add pictures into the posts. And a prettier background would be nice. I would like to get someone to design a really cute one once Iget it all figured out. One day......

Thank you God....

for my precious family. Thank you God for my healthy family. Thank you God for loving my babies more than I do. Thank you God for loving me.
I read some things sometimes that just make me so sad and I just have to remember how incredibly blessed I am to have my 2 boys and their daddy. Sometimes I lose my patience with them and want to pull my hair out and then I read the stories that bring everything back into perspective. Not everyone has that chance. God gave me these 2 boys to love and take care of and I pray every night that I get to do that for the rest of my life.
Thank you God for the many blessings you have given me.

Exhausted

Today I am sooo exhausted. Griffin has been getting up the past couple of nights and stays up for just a little too long. He wakes up, I go make him a bottle, rock him to sleep and then lay him back in his bed. And then he wakes up again. So I rock him back to sleep then lay him back in his bed. Then his head touches the bed and he wakes up. Rinse and repeat. All in all we are usually up for about 45 minutes before getting him back down for good. Well, Terry says it's my own fault because I don't just let him "cry it out". I just can't do it. I just feel so bad for him when he cries...he melts my heart. So, after my 3rd attempt, I told Terry it was his turn and went to go to the bathroom before going back to bed. Well, to my HORROR, there was a roach in the bathroom. Have I mentioned how I have an unnatural fear of roaches???? G-R-O-S-S. Even though Terry chased it down and murdered it, I was still totally freaked out and didn't go back to sleep for like another hour. I kept having visions of roaches everywhere. The fear is probably multiplied by 1000 since my dad once had a roach crawl into his ear. Yes, INTO his ear.
Sooooo, I'm exhausted after not getting to bed until midnight. I think I might beat Grayson to bed tonight.

Saturdays....

around here are usually always the same. The boys decide to wake up earlier than usual and then we get ready to go eat at ChickfilA or McDonalds. It's funny that during the week we have to wake them both up to get ready for school, but on the weekends they don't have a problem waking up at 6am or 6:30am...figures. Oh well, I love 'em anyways :) After breakfast I took my shopping buddy (Griffin) to Costco, TJ Maxx and Target...he is such a great shopper...as long as he has something to chew on. He told me that he liked the purple sweater on the hanger so I had to buy it.
After that we all headed over to Pastor Chad's for the swim party for our BFG. I love our church and our BFG class...they are all such wonderful people and it's always fun to get to fellowship with all of them. And of course Grayson had a blast. About a month ago we finally got him to start wearing floaties on his arms and now he LOVES getting in the pool. Not to mention, it's so much easier for us to swim with him when he wears them. Unfortunately, a couple weeks ago, he proved that you still have to watch him like a hawk when he's around the pool; he jumped into the spa at grandmother's house with no floaties and...you guessed it...he sunk like a rock. I had to fish him out while I was having a heart attack. Luckily he was fine, but it scared me so bad. Pools have always made me nervous, but now even more so.
Anywho, it was a typical Saturday for us. Not too exciting, but fun enough for us.

New to this

Well, I've decided it's about time I get with it and start blogging. Today is the day. Carpe diem! Since I don't lead the most exciting life, I imagine this blog will mostly revolve around...you guessed it: Grayson and Griffin. And of course there will be stories about something that Terry did wrong every once in while, so I guess this will double as my documentation of how he was wrong and I was right...awesome! I hope you enjoy the ride :)
